Rep. Stephenie Scialabba and Rep. Rob Mercuri have announced a significant investment in Cranberry Township's infrastructure. The Brush Creek Water Pollution Control Facility will receive funding from the Marshall Township Municipal Sanitary Authority (MTMSA) to upgrade its solids handling capabilities.
The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) has approved a loan exceeding $6.3 million for MTMSA, targeting improvements in drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and other essential projects. This funding will be channeled through an intermunicipal agreement to enhance services for Cranberry Township residents.
"Clean and affordable water is non-negotiable," said Scialabba. "Thanks to the proactive collaboration between Marshall and Cranberry townships, we can keep delivering results for our area. This is government working right."
Mercuri emphasized the importance of municipal services, stating, "Ensuring our communities have access to municipal services for our day-to-day lives is essential. These funds will be utilized to deliver improved water quality at a more cost-effective rate for customers in an environmentally efficient manner. I am proud to have advocated for them."
The funding originates from state and federal sources and has been approved by the PENNVEST board, which focuses on capital funding for projects that improve public health and environmental safety.
