Rep. Marci Mustello announced the allocation of nearly $602,000 in state funding for community improvements in Pennsylvania's 11th Legislative District. These funds come from Local Share Account (LSA) grants and are aimed at enhancing local infrastructure and facilities.
“These projects will be a great benefit to residents, including the sanitation and improvement to our roads and parks,” stated Mustello. “This funding represents valuable investments in ensuring accessibility, recreation, and possible business growth in our area. I’m happy to support these worthwhile and important projects.”
The awarded grants include several key initiatives:
Buffalo Township received $372,828 for equipment aimed at reducing sediment from watersheds, covering stormwater basins, ditch lines, and storm drains. Rich Hill, manager of Buffalo Township, expressed appreciation: “We are thrilled with the funding and appreciate Rep. Mustello’s hard work to advocate for this grant. We need help to pay for the equipment necessary to get the job done effectively. This will go a long way to help us get to our goal.”
Jefferson Township was granted $118,400 to install new bathroom facilities at Laura J. Doerr Memorial Park. Currently, only two single occupancy restrooms serve the park's visitors. Leo J. Rosenbauer III, manager of Jefferson Township, remarked: “We are excited to receive the necessary funding for this project... We are very grateful to Rep. Mustello’s help in obtaining the funding.”
Chicora Borough was allocated $110,000 for acquiring a new dump truck with attachments and a zero-turn tractor.
The Commonwealth Financing Authority approved these grants as part of its role overseeing programs that contribute to Pennsylvania’s economic development. LSA grants are funded through gaming revenues.
