Rep. Marci Mustello, in collaboration with the Butler County Chamber of Commerce, is organizing a free seminar on identity theft. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 8, at 7 p.m., and will be held at the Butler Township Park Building located at 468 South Butler Road in Butler.
"Identity theft is one of the fastest-growing crimes across the Commonwealth and we need to put a stop to it," said Mustello. "Identity thieves often strike when you least expect it, so it is crucial to avoid taking the security of your personal data for granted. As you take steps to protect your information and identity, you'll make yourself a more difficult target for thieves and may even stop them in their tracks."
The seminar will feature a representative from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office who will lead the session and address any questions attendees might have. The curriculum will cover how to recognize signs of identity theft, ways to protect oneself from identity theft, and what actions to take if one suspects they are a victim.
For further details or registration, individuals can contact Mustello’s district office at 724-283-5852 or visit her website at RepMustello.com/events.
