On July 17, 2024, Rep. Stephenie Scialabba (R-Butler) announced that the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) has awarded nearly $36 million in low-interest loan funding to a wastewater construction project in Cranberry Township.

According to Scialabba, the funds will be allocated for upgrading the Brush Creek Water Pollution Control Facility, focusing on equipment related to solids processing.

“This critical investment will benefit Cranberry Township residents,” said Scialabba. “I am grateful to see PENNVEST reaffirm the importance of this project through the approval of significant funds.”

Founded in 1988, PENNVEST provides grants and low-interest loans for the design, engineering, and construction of publicly and privately owned drinking water distribution and treatment facilities, as well as stormwater and wastewater projects.
