On May 9, 2024, Representative Stephenie Scialabba (R-Butler) announced that she will be hosting her inaugural "Family First Initiative" event. The event is scheduled for Thursday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Steamfitters Event Center, located at 230 Wise Road in Harmony.

Previously known as the Senior Expo, this initiative has been broadened to offer essential resources for all family members, regardless of age. It is designed to serve as a comprehensive resource hub with over 100 vendors presenting interactive displays and demonstrations.

The event aims to provide assistance in various areas including Disability Care, Child Care, Senior Care, Veteran Care, Health & Mental Health care, Education and Abuse & Recovery.

“Life is unpredictable, and we often find ourselves navigating through unforeseen challenges and unexpected twists,” said Scialabba. “In moments like this, it is reassuring that we are not alone and blessed to have the support of our community and resources. The first step is the most important – making the connections. My hope is that this event will enable people to take the first step they need, and then many more.”

No registration is required for the event. For any queries or further information, individuals can contact Scialabba’s district office at 724-772-3110. Attendees are also encouraged to bring old eyeglasses and cellphones for donation to charity.
