HARRISBURG – In an effort to provide training and resources to licensed establishments, their employees, and volunteers who are involved with serving alcohol at public festivals and events, Rep. Marci Mustello (R-Butler) has announced that she will host a Responsible Alcohol Management Program (RAMP) certification class. The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 6, from 6-9 p.m. at the Saxonburg Fireman’s Club located at 155 Pittsburgh St., Saxonburg.
Rep. Mustello highlighted the significance of the RAMP program, stating, "Since its inception in 2016, the RAMP program has been instrumental in training staff and personnel on how to properly handle alcohol products and manage common situations involved with alcohol sales." She further emphasized, "It also helps to educate and inform customers and staff on the importance of responsible alcohol service to protect public safety."
The RAMP Server/Seller training is mandatory for individuals involved in serving alcohol at community festivals and events in Pennsylvania. It is also a required training, within six months of hire, for all licensed establishments aiming to maintain RAMP certification. Upon completion of the class and exam, participants will receive a personal card/certificate that remains valid for two years.
While RAMP classes are typically available through various online providers at different price points, this particular class offers an in-person experience for participants to engage with peers and colleagues. Registration for the event is essential and can be completed in advance by contacting the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company at 724-352-3300, ext. 755. Due to limited space, a $15 fee per participant is payable to the RAMP instructor on the day of the event.
