On Sunday, Feb. 16, former Freeport Area Senior High School standout Sydney Selker’s current college team, the Akron Zips, won 9-8 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Tarleton State Texans.

The game took place at Tarleton Softball Complex. This was their second matchup against the Texans this season.

The Zips’ next game is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. at Red & Charline McCombs Field against Texas Longhorns.
