Rep. Marci Mustello announced that schools in the 11th Legislative District have received over $977,000 in grants from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s School Safety and Security Committee. These funds aim to enhance school safety and provide mental health support.
“These grants are a vital investment in the safety and well-being of our students and educators,” said Mustello. “Ensuring our schools have the resources to enhance security and provide mental health support is crucial to creating safer, more supportive learning environments for students across the Butler County.”
Several school districts and technical schools within the district received funding: Butler Area School District was awarded $214,860; Karns City School District received $124,420; Knoch School District got $136,835; while Butler County AVTS Career and Technical School obtained $70,000.
Nonpublic schools in Butler County also benefited from targeted school safety grants. Butler Catholic School received $60,000; Saint Wendelin School was granted $75,000; Penn Christian Academy secured $10,364; North Catholic High School obtained $75,000.
The PCCD’s committee allocates these grants across Pennsylvania to improve safety measures and provide essential mental health services for both students and staff.
