Rep. Marci Mustello of Butler is set to host a Responsible Alcohol Management Program (RAMP) certification class aimed at providing training and resources for licensed establishments, their employees, and volunteers involved in serving alcohol at public festivals and events. The session is scheduled for Wednesday, March 6, from 6-9 p.m. at the Saxonburg Fireman’s Club located in Saxonburg.
"Since its inception in 2016, the RAMP program has been instrumental in training staff and personnel on how to properly handle alcohol products and manage common situations involved with alcohol sales," said Mustello. "It also helps to educate and inform customers and staff on the importance of responsible alcohol service to protect public safety."
The RAMP Server/Seller training is mandatory for anyone serving alcohol at community festivals and events across Pennsylvania. It is also required within six months of hire for all licensed establishments wishing to maintain RAMP certification. Participants who complete the class and exam will receive a personal card or certificate valid for two years.
While online options are available for RAMP classes, this event offers an in-person experience that some may prefer due to its interactive nature among peers. Interested participants must register in advance by contacting the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company. The registration fee is $15 per participant, payable to the instructor on the day of the event.
