Rep. Marci Mustello announced that schools in the 11th Legislative District have received grants exceeding $977,000 from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency's School Safety and Security Committee. The funds are aimed at enhancing school safety and mental health resources.
“These grants are a vital investment in the safety and well-being of our students and educators,” stated Mustello. She emphasized the importance of providing schools with necessary resources to improve security measures and mental health support for students in Butler County.
The school districts and technical schools benefiting from these grants include Butler Area School District with $214,860, Karns City School District receiving $124,420, Knoch School District awarded $136,835, and Butler County AVTS Career and Technical School granted $70,000.
Nonpublic schools in Butler County also received targeted school safety grants. These include Butler Catholic School with a grant of $60,000, Saint Wendelin School awarded $75,000, Penn Christian Academy receiving $10,364, and North Catholic High School granted $75,000.
The PCCD’s committee allocates these funds to various schools across Pennsylvania to bolster safety measures while also providing essential mental health support services for both students and staff.
