Cranberry issued the following announcement on Feb. 24.
Though it won’t have the jutting mountains and ski slopes of its namesake, a proposed townhouse development could bring a lift to Cranberry’s housing market.
The Breckenridge development would bring 112 townhouse units to an 18-acre space along Freedom Road. The space currently consists of five separate lots which would be consolidated. Existing homes would be razed.
The development exceeds the Township’s open space requirements and is significantly under the density and impervious surface requirements. Standard streetscape enhancements, including sidewalks, street trees, and pedestrian pockets, are expected to add neighborhood value.
The development would also offer a significant pedestrian system of both sidewalks and trails for residents and visitors alike.
A public hearing on the conditional uses for the development was held at the Board of Supervisor’s February 24 meeting. The Board anticipates considering approval at its March 3 meeting.
