Cost of college went up for all students at Butler County Community College

In-state tuition and fees rose 1.9 percent for 2018-19 at Butler County Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Pennsylvania residents paid $7,950 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $150 more than the $7,800 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 37.7 percent more than residents this year, or $10,950. Non-resident tuition and fees grew 1.4 percent from $10,800 in 2017-18.

100 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Pennsylvania residents.

Data shows 74 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 371 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2.2 million and 159 students took out student loans totaling more than $719,820.

Including all undergraduates (3,305), 1,479 students used grants or scholarships totaling $6.7 million, and 607 students took out $2.5 million in federal student loans.
