Mars Area Centennial School issued the following announcement.
On Aug. 11, Mars Area School Board voted 8-0 in favor of Mars Area School District's 2020-2021 School Reopening Health & Safety Plan. (Board member Gordon Marburger was absent.)
As per the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Mars Area School District developed the Health & Safety Plan to serve as the local guidelines for all instructional and non-instructional school reopening activities. As with all emergency plans, the Health & Safety Plan is tailored to the unique needs of our school community. In the development of the plan, the District considered input from various stakeholder groups across the District as well as guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH), American Academy of Pediatrics (APP), and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Given the dynamic nature of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Mars Area School District Health & Safety Plan is designed to outline teaching and learning modalities that allow flexibility for our students and their families during what may be ever changing conditions. It is the District’s most sincere hope to ensure that all stakeholders are fully informed and prepared for a local phased reopening of our school facilities.
Mars Area School District will continue to monitor and update, as needed, its Health and Safety Plan throughout the 2020-2021 School Year. All revisions will be reviewed and approved by the School Board.
