Three state grants have been allocated to support recreation and conservation projects in Butler City and Winfield Township, as announced by Representative Marci Mustello. The total funding amounts to $571,000 and is intended to enhance community resources.

“These grants will provide much needed resources for several community projects that are poised to provide expanded access and opportunities for our local citizens and children,” stated Mustello. She further explained that the projects aim to update existing parks and recreational facilities, with a focus on Diamond and Windfield parks in Butler County.

Emily Brittain Elementary in Butler City is set to receive $45,600 for playground rehabilitation. This includes constructing a pedestrian walkway, installing play equipment with safety surfacing, ensuring ADA access, landscaping, signage, and other site improvements.

The County of Butler will benefit from a $250,000 grant for the rehabilitation of Diamond Park. Planned enhancements include plaza renovation, construction of a new pavilion, refurbishing walkways, lighting installation, utility upgrades, ADA accessibility improvements, landscaping, and new signage.

Winfield Township is allocated $275,400 for further development of its Community Park. This involves building a multisport court and pedestrian walkway.

These grants fall under the Community Conservation Partnerships Program managed by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. The program provides financial and technical assistance for planning, acquiring, and developing park-related projects across various organizations.
