Rep. Marci Mustello has announced that Jefferson Township will receive $125,000 in funding from the Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program (GTRP) to enhance the Southeast Butler County (SEBCO) Pool. The funds are earmarked for essential repairs and improvements to equipment, along with facility upgrades aimed at boosting public safety and operational efficiency.
“The Laura J. Doerr Memorial Park, along with SEBCO Pool, are key recreational assets within the region,” stated Mustello. “For decades, the pool facilities have provided area residents with a place to cool off in the summertime while offering lessons and team activities for personal growth.”
The grant will cover costs related to construction, equipment, and engineering. It aims to ensure that the pool maintains high standards of safety and public health.
“This funding will allow Jefferson Township to make much-needed improvements to the facilities, enabling them to remain a safe and enjoyable place for years to come,” Mustello added.
The GTRP was established under Act 13 of 2012 with a focus on supporting public recreation and greenway development across Pennsylvania. This program provides municipalities like Jefferson Township with necessary resources for important community projects.
