On Friday, Feb. 7, former Freeport Area Senior High School standout Sydney Selker’s current college team, the Akron Zips, won 7-1 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Monmouth Hawks.
The game took place at Cyrill Stadium. This was their first matchup against the Hawks this season.
The Zips’ next game is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 7 at 12:30 p.m. at Cyrill Stadium against USC Upstate Spartans.
Nearly $1.2 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grants have been approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support several community projects across Butler County, according to an announcement from Rep. Marci Mustello (R-Butler).
