On Saturday, Feb. 8, former Freeport Area Senior High School standout Sydney Selker’s current college team, the Akron Zips, won 2-0 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the USC Upstate Spartans.
The game took place at Cyrill Stadium. This was their second matchup against the Upstate Spartans this season.
The Zips’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. at Tarleton Softball Complex against Tarleton State Texans.
